This is pretty awesome. I am in love. This will probably ruin my life.

I’ve realized something very disturbing.

I was always bottom heavy and top light. My butt was the bane of my existence. I was always pretty active with things that engaged my lower half, I guess. I don’t know what this is about.

I have been pretty sedentary ever since the weather has gone bad. I used to jog in snow, but I’ve been quite lazy. AND I went on vacation. Either way, I am getting a little bit of a tire. I find that my shape is changing. I always thought it was genetics, but in fact perhaps it’s my age or because I am not walking all that much anymore. And I’m a little horrified… quite frankly.

I am just rubbish at packing. Terrible. A large part of it is that I don’t have any new clothes. Of course, this sounds shallow, but I am not excited about my outfits. I could care less about what I wear to work… as long as it is minimally coordinated. Otherwise, other than a flannel shirt and 2 sweaters, I don’t have any new winter gear. Old winter stuff seems to have worn away… and I feel like a bum.

I am bringing practically nothing. My bag will be relatively light. I wish I would could feel more “put together.”

Tomorrow, on the 31st, I will be traveling to the northwest in the evening. I will be somewhere in limbo when the east coast celebrates the new year. I will land around 11pm and hope to celebrate with a glass of champagne in the airport. Woop. I’m traveling tomorrow because the I get the most time out of the weekend and the flights are cheap. I get back on a flight leaving Sunday night and arriving Monday morning at 8am. Then, I head straight in for work. The flight itself was less than $500.

I was able to score a relatively affordable flight to Frankfurt earlier mid-year, for also around $500 round trip. However, since then, getting tickets during vacation time has been hellish.

All the airlines are getting rid of their amenities, however, I am pleased to report that American Airlines was fairly awesome when I traveled to Japan in July. Their in flight entertainment section really impressed me. They had tons of different genres of shows and movies (The Office, Iron Man, etc..). I honestly prefer that to the Jet Blue hundreds of channels, because depending on the time you fly nothing is available for watching.

I hate planes. However, here’s hoping that in 2009 prices for flights will be reasonable. In an optimistic note, Air New Zealand successfully completed a two-hour flight running on a part vegetable oil fuel, which is a big accomplishment in terms of sustainable resources. Let’s hope that the innovations in using jatropha oil, algae, and halophytes are successful!

Perhaps this is funny only to those that know what I do for a living.

I was browsing in a bookstore last night when I encountered a book called, 100 Bullshit Jobs… and How to get them/. If you do a search inside the book through amazon for Donald Trump, “Being Donald Trump,” comes up as #11.

There were some interesting jobs, such as “Cheese Artisan,” and then some non-BS type jobs, such as “Allergist,” where they admit you would need to dedicate yourself to getting an MD. Eh.

Smoking is so completely taboo in the U.S. now. It’s kinda funny and I can’t help thinking that part of it is too judgmental. Yes, it’s toxic, but it’s a choice. I think it is really funny when celebrities hide their bad habits. Every time Perez Hilton outs a smoking celebrity, it brings me joy.

Either way, I think closet smoking is much more common than people think.

On the other hand, After looking at many sites featuring redesigns of logos during 2008, I found out for the first time that Camel redesigned their package. Hrm. How about that? I remember thinking about the disparity between their Camel No. 9 and regular packaging. I have to say, regardless of the product, I like their new package. (And I did quite like their whole image branding with Camel No. 9)

Happy Hanukkah everyone! (Yes yes… Happy Holidays. No, I’m not Jewish.) Friday, I had Sabbath dinner with Cindy and her family and spent rest of the weekend at home.

On Christmas, I went to Genevieve’s place for a tasty stuffed pork chop and to enjoy her tree. Gen and Hoyeon both had presents for me and I had none. Come to think of it, Soph got me a present and I got nothing for her as well. I kinda suck. I did NO holiday shopping.

o.O I think I missed something. I was generally a holiday grouch, but promises of food gets me out of the Apt. I don’t celebrate Christmas or any other holiday, really. I just like to sleep and eat during the holidays.

However, being in Genevieve’s place inspired me to decorate, and I had this big urge to wrap things. Yeah… the one rush of productivity makes me want to play with holiday tinsel. WTH?

Otherwise, on Wednesday I am leaving for Portland, Oregon, for a long weekend. I think this time I need to pick up a present, though. Here is where I need help. I am clueless as to what to get an older couple, someone’s parents. I am leaning towards a cool coffee table book / books.

update: Uhg. No books… sweets it is!

Last week, I tried to upload wordpress 2.6.5 to 2.7. In the beginning it went fine. I made a new post and went to bed. I made a post about Kiva.Org. My friend also mentioned she saw my post when I went over to her place for Christmas dinner. Hence, I am not going crazy.

Later that night, I went on my blog and it disappeared. I didn’t notice that at first, but what I did notice was that the dashboard reverted back to 2.6.5. My database was updated. There were remnants of the 2.7 files. My wp-config file was the updated version, so I didn’t know what was wrong.

I deleted the admin and include folders and recopied 2.7 around 2… 3 times. The first time nothing changed. Then I deleted the database and installed the new 2.7 seperate, etc.

One issue that might have triggered this is that I was finally moving over my site to dreamhost, and the nameserver change could have f-ed things up. Another is that I just got hacked.

Earlier today, my site turned into the default site for wordpress with no entries. The title said, “Ahhhh.” I don’t remember doing that, but maybe I just messed with it too much. I tried to log into the admin and it didn’t take any of my passwords. I think I’ve been hacked.

In the end, today, I deleted every file. Then I deleted my database. Then I uploaded all the 2.7 files. I manually moved over my theme folders and upload folder. Then, finally I imported my database.

Voila!!

But now the question is whether this will be here in the morning when I wake up.
